The Center for Genome Function is enabling the formation of an interactive group of molecular biologists studying fundamental problems in genetics and epigenetics. Composed of research groups with undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and faculty, the Center has numerous activities that promote exchange of scientific ideas — including a journal club, a future directions workshop series, and joint group meetings. New faculty are being recruited to maximize synergy among existing and new research groups. Affiliated with the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB), the Center builds on IMB’s rich history of transformative interdisciplinary research.
